Audio/Video Switcher Guide
In many applications you will need to select between inputs before sending a signal to your displays. A
switcher gives you the ability to plug numerous video and audio devices into one central location and essentially decide which source will be displayed. For example, two computers can be plugged into a switcher and you can manually select which source will be sent to a projector or plasma.
Choosing the right switcher for your application revolves around a few things:
Signal Type: (e.g., computer, composite video, RGB, stereo audio)
Connector Type: (e.g., BNC, S-video, 15-pin HD)
Size: How many inputs are needed?
Most switchers are operated manually via front panel control. If that doesn’t work in your environment there is another option to consider. On certain models, such as the
MX2106AV, the unit will switch automatically upon detecting an active input.
